Errors

The following show some errors you may see and what they mean:

Error: access_id, access_key or account_name not set via cli or config file

Missing the values needed to access the API from the cli or config file. See config.example.ini

Warning: config file permissions are too open

On startup, elm checks that the credentials directory has permissions 700 and all .ini files in it have permissions 600. If any are too open, elm will warn and fix them automatically. If elm cannot fix them, it will abort.

To fix manually: chmod 700 ~/.config/logicmonitor/credentials && chmod 600 ~/.config/logicmonitor/credentials/*.ini

Error: no valid fields selected

None of the fields selected by the fields option (--fields FIELD,...) are valid fields

Warning: results truncated by size limit

The query matches more records than this page returned, so some results aren’t displayed. Raise --size INTEGER (defaults to 50, max 1000) or page through the rest with --offset INTEGER.

The check accounts for --offset: it compares offset + rows returned against LogicMonitor’s total for the query, so the final page of a paginated fetch does not warn even when the total exceeds --size. It also fires when LM cannot compute an exact total (a negative total), since that means the result set may be incomplete.

Warning: no data found

No data has been returned by the query
